NEW hotel closing times are in force in Newcastle from this weekend after hoteliers and police agreed to ease strict curfews.
Hotels subject to the revised lockout of 1.30am (moved from 1am) are: Cambridge Hotel, Civic Hotel, Ducks Nuts Hotel, Crown and Anchor Hotel, Fannys, Queens Wharf Brewery, Customs House Hotel, Grand Hotel and King Street Hotel.The Crown and Anchor Hotel and Customs House will close at 3am, while the other seven hotels will close at 3.30am.The Great Northern, Lucky Country and Clarendon hotels, MJ Finnegans and Hotel CBD will remain under conditions imposed by the Liquor Administration Board in March, including a 1am lockout and 3am close. MJ Finnegans will close at 2.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.Water stations and bans on shots imposed in March will continue.
